only problem....i used the feeler gauge method to hook up the horn.

i separated the horn wire/plug from the srs wires, and removed the pin from the plug on the WHEEL side of the wire. i then placed the wire, feeler gauge, and a washer and screwed them into one of the screw holes. my only problem is this...

when you look at the back of the actual horn button, you have a power/signal and a ground connection. when i was messing around with the feeler gauge to make sure it was gonna work, whenever the feeler touched any part of the hub, it activated the horn for as long as i maintained contact. THEN, i tried to connect the button to make sure that the circuit would remain open (or until the button was pushed, closing the circuit=HORN). i grounded the switch by touching it to the steering column bolt. the big 19mm. i thought BINGO, this works. that was the only way i could think to ground the wire from the button correctly, b/c the horn button is grounded somewhere deeper into the wiring harness. (the horn wire is a single wire in the stock plug, if you follow, which is the power source i used for the horn)

i just put everything back on, and ended up putting the ground wire under the wheel bolt as mentioned, but now the horn is activated ALL the time. i moved the feeler gauge to stop the madness, but why would the steering column lose its ability to ground that wire so suddenly like that? makes no sense to me....

any ideas on where to ground the button?
