12.5 is more like it although i ran 13 to 1 on 92 octane at 13 degrees timing

Through tuning yes you may be able to run 12:1+. However using the stock ECU as many may do, I can say that I think 12:1 is too high even on 93 Octane. My car is driveable, but you cannot push it all the way with out detonation...and thats with the ECU in retard mode, which is heavy fuel and no timing advance. I will probably lower mine to 11.5:1 and see how that goes.
This may be an isolated problem though, as we all assemble our engines differently and there are many different factors involved.
I can say that I have nmot had any overheating problems yet...and its gotten up to about mid 90's so far here in Texas.

If your gonna be running 13.5:1 Compression, make sure you're using is in combination with large cams; Toda, Jun, Skunk2, to relieve static compression, which would help reduce the occurance of detonation.

Ya in order to lower my compression I'm going to use my 62404's, use a thicker head gasket and open the bowl a little....between all that I should lose hopefully 1/2 point of compression....if more...hey thats fine

I never got it to the point where I could run pump gas alone. I always had to run octane booster, or race fuel.
As for power, I think the car spoke for itself. It was a monstor. 240+whp in a "Street car." This was before cams, ECU, and several other things.
Personal opinion? I wouldn't run a stock ECU, and I wouldn't go above about 12:1, and I'd get it tuned right away.

im going to get it tuned with my hondata s200, and of course im not going to use 91 octane. I just want to drive it from the track back home which is 20 mins away not for freeway driving.
