Default RPM

I was wondering what is the ideal RPM when you shift to second gear. Sometimes mine drops to around 6-6.2 and sometimes I chirp the wheels and it drops to around 6.8. And also I was wondering how many of you race from a stand still cause I was wondering how hard it is on the car to do so, I dont wanna hurt the car or wear down the tires too much. Thanks.

Default Re: RPM (PatITR)

Ideal RPM on a stock R is were the gearing puts it. no matter what if you shift at redline you will stay in VTEC. Every type of racing is hard on a car, when you launch from a standstill you shock load the entire drivetrain. The engine goes from no load to full load while the axles tranny and clutch are trying there hardest not to break into pieces. If you are going to race you need to be willing to except the risks involved, broken parts.
