Is nitrous legal, because where im from i hear some rumers that its not. Any one know any information aobut it?

In some places Like here in Oregon,it is illegal to have the bottle hooked up while you are driving but that is all i have heard of before

 

Yeah, for all I know your state could be different, but in OHIO, you can have NOS, as long as it isn't hooked up. If you get pulled over and it is hooked up, your screwed.

As far as I know NOS is NOT CARB certified.

So I would say NO it is not legal.

But why does that have to stop you from putting it on your car and driving around town.

i think it is only illegal in two states i forget.......... i will find out tho i know it is illegal in Maryland. u need like a sticker or something to even carry it. MD is gay that is like the only thing i don't miss about MD is they GAY *** motor vehicle laws and ppl who live in MD would understand.

 

In CA it is illegal to have it turned on. It is legal to have it hooked up though. I know that if you have the bottle in your car, you need to have that green non-flammable gas sticker visible on the exterior of your car. So it is kind of "iffy" about the legalities, just hide it and you will be straight. Just so you know, NOS isn't like the Fast and the Furious... That was Hollywood. Definitely best bang for the buck, but not to the point where your car get blurry and your face flies back into your seat... Unless your car is Fast and really Furious

incase anyone was wondering a good way to hide nos.......just take a gym bag, stick the NOS bottle/holder inside it, and bolt/screw it to your trunk just like you would the normal holder.....run the wires out from the backside (facing the backseats) and throw some old clothes ontop of of the bottle, so as to any suspicious cops that may wanna look in the trunk.....or you could just buy a custom seat like vin deisel (sp?) and hide 8 mini bottles under yer butt...

 

my boys got caught up for having a nos kit and there wasnt even a bottle in the car. most of the time they will give you a ticket in cali for have a nos set up in your car and the cop will just make you fight it in court. that dont stop nobody tho. to have nos legit i think you do need a sticker. its a green square like the one you see on trucks carrying chemicals just not that big.

 

Hey you guy's ever heard of a Test pipe, how about a custom built Turbo kit, maybe aftermarket pistons cams and rods in your motor, maybe a JDM header or even Aftermarket fuel injectors. All Illegal in the US of A why because it modifies emissions equipment. It is against federal law to Modify Remove or Replace a properly functioning Catalytic converter on any vehicle so equipped.

My point is If they want to nail you they will find a reason. 1. A police officer cannot search your vehicle w/o probable cause 2. a muffler tip is NOT probable cause 3. They cant search your vehicle based on the suspicion of N20. N20 is illegal to use on the street in all 50 states of the union, why? because it is not safe to trigger N20 when there is a car 5 feet in front of you plus it increases emissions from the vehicle.

Go ahead and Run N20, leave the bottle hooked up and open BUt dont drink and drive and dont keep or use illegal substances in your car that way they wont search your car and find N20 hooked up an in use.

 

When I had a 150 shot on my car, things didn't quite get blurry, but it damn sure did throw your *** back in the seat. Of course, that motor put out over 400 HP before the juice. Why can't I make my Honda that fast !

 

I had a friend with a turbo NOS GSR and he got pulled over by the police after a get together. The cops asked him why he had the nitrous all hooked up and he just said it was for show and he wanted to show his friends but that he was heading home to take it out again and they just let him go. I think it's illegal to have it actually working and hooked up but for some weird reason, it's ok to have it mounted in your car. Weird...
