I have a spare stock GSR shifter and i was wondering if this will fit in an 89 CRX si? the throw on the stock CRX shifter is extremely long, and i think this will shorten it considerbly..if it fits...let me know if anyone of you has done this...thanks..
It should, but you may have to do a little bit of grinding on one of the metal plates (the one the ball goes through) I think the GSR shifter ball is slightly larger than the CRX...other than that, it works like a charm.
I have a DC SS in mine (which came out of a 98 GSR) It fits, and feels really good.
Let me know if you run into any problems I'll see if I can help ya out

What i did, was shorten a stock CRX shifter. I cut the threads off, then i ground down the shaft below where the threads were until it was the same width as the original threads. I then just tapped new threads onto it, and viola: short shifter. Not only does it work good, but the shifter is super low and looks great. I had a store bought short shifter in my rex, but i hated the way it still sticks up so damn high. You can probably get a machine shop to modify it for less than $20.
i'm really happy with the way it turned out. another thing you gotta do though is enlarge the ring on the leather boot so it slides down a little further. Other than that, great easy mod.
