Question on hondata's boost cut feature
Hey...
i got tuned about a month ago with my hondata and my 12 lbs of boost and i've been content thus far..
when my tuner tuned the ROM, we programmed in the "boost cut" for 14psi...
my question is, and what i should've asked him, is what does this actually do?
as far as i know hondata cant control boost, so if i just turn my boost controller up to say 16 psi, then won't i just hit 16 psi? or does it mean my fuel maps are only good enough for a max of 14 psi?

I believe it cuts fuel at whatever value it is set at. Correct me if I am wrong.
My question would be why would you set it higher than what the Map sensor can handle?

this doesnt sound very safe...
i was going to try to run 100 (i was tuned for 94) and turn up the boost a little to see what it could do....
i have a gm 3bar map..

You had your tuner set a fuel cut (boost cut) at 14 psi. Until you have them reburn the chip with a higher value, you will loose power if you go above 14 psi. This is a safety feature that will protect against boost spike. By cutting fuel you CANNOT make boost and this will save your but if something catastrphic happens to your wastegate or boost controller.
