Default Mini-me Timing...Help!

I have the A6/Z6 mini-me in my 89 CRX, I need to know what the secrets to best timing marks others have gone with and had success...it's at 0 right now and my distributor is advanced all the way and it not quick enough and my redline is at 5900...feels like fuel cut-off ot something, it won't go!, and that's with a lot of fuel dumped in (I have an FPR)...can anyone help me out?
-Thanks

I ordered an AEM, but I only think they can be adjusted 3+&3-..can't I do it manually?, like take it off and advance it a couple teeth or whatever...which way does the cam go to be advanced?(clockwise or counter clockwise)
Thanks!

no you can't just take it off and move it cuz the shaft has a small tab that helps lock the sprocket in place when you have it at tdc. if you get the aem you'll need to to turn it towards the + sign to advance. I've been using a JG sprocket on my 89 CRX Si and it has about 10 degrees of adjustment either way

Yes, but if I have it at TDC, (0 degrees) can I not advance it by a tooth ot two?

no, not for the stock cam gear because of the tab on the shaft where th gear goes on. it corresponds to a small cutout on the stock gear when at TDC

A 5900 rmp redline seems kinda low.. almost as if your vtec is not kicking in. Anyway, I have a y8 mini me set up. I am running 1 step colder plugs and +.5° cam timing advance.. ignition timing is set at at stock. I have no pinging.

considering you are messing with timing and want the most power possible, you should consider getting your car tuned on a dyno.
