I just want some opinions and experiences on who makes the most powerful D16 non-vtec cam. My setup is a moderate build-up : Ported and Polished Head, ECU, I, E, H, running 10.8:1 compression. They're are so many companies that makes or grinds D16a6 performance cams, and NON of them show any realistic dynos or anything. Any info, good or bad would be appreciated. I don't care about emissions or daily-drivability. Just want to know what makes the MOST hp in the 5000+ rpm range. Thanks for looking.

 

Exospeed has some nice cams... check them out

 

crane or web. regrinds are fine but the base circle is ground away which speeds up the rocker arms a whole bunch which will lead to premature valvetrain failure sometime down the road.

 

Exospeed, gude or maybe ef-1 (do they make cams for our motors?)

 

Ive heard nothing but good things about the Exospeed cam. I'm planning to get the SR909 one for my SOHC ZC someday....i jus needa stop spending money on stupid crap

 

from what ive heard ...i hear ZEX makes the one of the best sohc vtec cams...

 

Ive heard that the Ef-1 cam is the sh#t. and its not to pricey

i have a delta 272 and i ran 15.48 at 88 with only header, chip and intake. i also had a terrible clutch, tranny and 13" pizza cutters. i have a pretty rough idle and terrible low end power but after 4500 rpm's it pulls good to 7500 +. there really cheap and if you don't like it you can't bitch because you only spent around 65 bucks. heres there web site http://www.deltacam.com . with this same cam i ran 14.7 at 97 on a 40 shot of nos with terrible tire burning launches on them skinny 13"s

 

i remember back in the days when sohc motors were still the MAIN honda motors to fix-up....JG 301X was the sheeeit....web cams are nice also....

 

i personally prefer the cranes since they are the only cams that arent regrounded stock cams. but i also tried jg and delta and the jg 1001 were great but the delta...im not sure what happened with that one but i lost .3 in the quarter.
