Default SOHC Vtec lope question??

I want to test my Vtec solinoid, and I want to know if I hook a +12v to the solinoid at idle with a D15b if I would hear it lope? I can here the solinod click, but I dont know if it is switching profiles. Thanks

Or is there any other way to test the solinoid while it is on the car?

i don't think it will lope, because there's not enough oil pressure for the vtec lobe to come into play. my .02c

So even if you jump the solinoid it wont switch profiles at a low RPM?

Thats correct. VTEC uses engine oil pressure to engage, so if you lack enough oil pressure then you have no VTEC.

any progress dude, check the screen behind the vtec/oil switch. if that screen is clogged, you'll have no oil pressure to activate vtec!

Take the lead coming off your Silinoid and hook it directly up to your possitive terminal, if it clicks you know it works. Now make sure you CTS is working because Vtec will not work if the engine is not warm, at least mine wouldn't.

Remember everyone, I am forcing the solinoid with and activated switch, it is NOT controlled by the ECU.
