fiberglass work
i want to fiberglass my ineterior. do i have to sand down the dash and then glass. or just lay the towel and glass and then what paint do i have to use to paint it? thanks for your help.
it would probably be best to sand it first so that it sticks better. as far as paint, automotive paint would be the most durable and have the best finish (like done at a body shop....basecoat/clearcoat). make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. its a ton of money and time to do a nice job. why not put all that money and time into performance? just trying to give you one last warning
i know what your saying, put the money into performance your right but right now i don't have the money for that i have everything i need for the glassing but i don't
know want to do to it and the glass looks really really good in my friends car. im tired of looking at the same thing. i need something new, low cost tho any suggestions?

maybe i could help you on this one, i havent done my dash yet but ill end up doin my whole interior, i just finished my center console, glassed it and made space for a 5.6lcd screen. took 3 days, ill give you some advice when i start my dash.
this is what you have to do to get the fiberglass to stick. 1st remove all the factory plastic vin. and then foam sand it down so you see the white plastic then lay some fiberglass resin down then the mat (use fiber glass mat not the cloth) the mat is much stronger than the cloth. i'm in the middle of doing mine now
im just gonna use some tshirts and/or fleece for mine, not really any need for the strength of glass mat, at least i dont see the need for it. o well.....could you post some pics of your progress monsterzc?

i will try to its no problem if you can get a extra dash it makes things alot easier you don't want to rush take your time and do it right the 1st also aftrer you have t painted you should leave your windows cranked so the heat can get out and so your dash doesn't start cracking
