Default Need prep tips from a pro

I have S**** Macco like paint job
Orange peel,Starting to chip, Crappy clear coat.. You know the works lol

I plan on prepping my car my self before taking it to a good reputable painter

Would i have to sand all of my crappy paint off before it is ready for primer?Like almost down to bare metal??

I was planning on air craft remover on the easy panels tooo take off
(Hood,Fenders,Hatch etc)

bumper stripper for bumpers
(not sure what this is but i was recomended it)

And sanding the qaurter panels and roof, What would be the best combo of grits for this ?

Is the best way to sand just hand sanding with a sanding block? or is it ok to use tools like palm sanders?

Are you supposed to wet sand primer when its done ?

I have heard that most aerosal can primers are not suitable for cars
I also know that half of what a paint job will come to look how it is from whats under the paint.
But i want to get most of this done my self to save money
I am sure there are probaly automotive rattle can primers that are safe, But just making sure

I have pretty minimal expeirience with painting cars , But i beleive i know enough to get the basic stuff done.
Help me out HT

if I were you I would strip all the paint off and i would use an orbital sander not a palm sander. the sander I'm talking about is not a small hand held DA(dual action) sander, its a larger version that you can lock out one of the rotating actions on and off. I would also start with 80 grit and if you start to see sparks that's bad, you need to move faster cause your creating to much heat.
Also you want to be careful on the large panels not to sand to hard and create to much heat cause you will warp the sheet metal.
I tried to attach a photo of the type of sander you should use.
