Which one flows better and why? I know that the Starion would flow better, because it is a front-mount, but if the SMIC had an open bumper, which one would flow better? This goes back to my other post about the SMIC with the front bumper cut out. Thanks.
they both heat soak rather quickly.
another good option is to run a supra smic. or you can weld two supra smic cores together for a front mount. cost effective and very effective in regards to performance.
friend's 95 dsm runs this with a 2.4l block, haltech, fp red, 500whp. low 11's at over 120mph awd.

my friend runs 12 flat @ 5000ft elevation on a stock bottom end w/ GREEN turbo. with STOCK SMIC.
the 1st gens are a pretty good unit, but they are more suited for high speed runs because of the thickness of the core.
you could get a core from a ford powerstroke, have it cut to fit, then new tanks welded. Their cores are fin/tube....

after all the welding and fitment brackets and such it'll end up being the price of a brand new intercooler.....i suggest you just buy a brand new FMIC. No guess work just mount it and run the plumbing....UNLESSSSSS you do everything yourself....then that's a whole new story
