Re: sidemount ic?? (k12ayz1e)
I ran one for awhile until it got stolen. I just ran it down off of my CAI and then a pipe from the compressor down and then to the IC. It sat right in between my bumper and wheel well.

DSM sidemount is a very efficient intercooler with very little psi drop, compared to other intercoolers. Slap on some new endtanks with larger outlets and youll have a GREAT intercooler for low bucks.
Mine held well in the 20psi range on my DSM with upgraded turbo when i had it.

Why do you want to run a sidemount? Are you short on money or just want the sleeper look? Cause there are ways to make a Front Mount sleeper as well. Plus the front mount is much more efficient than a sidemount. And you can find good quality ones for pretty cheap these days. http://www.johnnyracecar.com. Paint the IC black and then also get black screen mesh like used on window screens and put that in front of the IC. No one will ever be able to see it.

The Saab sidemount works good too. I would try finding an old 944 IC...i hear you don't have to do much modification and it can get you better performance than a sidemount

agreed, they are very efficient for there size and location. On a stock block honda, they would provide more then enough cooling.

I'm sorry, but the quality of those Johnny race car intercoolers is pretty poor. I got one for free and ran non-intercooled over running with that thing.
I think a sidemount is a very efficient way to run low boost on a D series while keeping it sleeper. Route the BOV back to the intake side of the turbo and no one will know
