buzz in exhaust, what causes it??
i got my magnaflow muffler on today, it is buzzy over 3k during WOT
i am running 2.25" pipe from cat back with a new hi flow cat. i have a flex pipe connecting the cat and header. theres a resonator installed between the cat and the muffler twist in the rear around the gas tank. it is all crush bent piping. the muffler is a offset / centre muffler, stainless steel. 4"x7" or something is the name. just a universal muffler.
i kinda jumped the gun on getting my exhaust because this past weekend it broke at the cat and at the intermediate pipe. so everything is new header back. someone told me mandrel bent piping would fix this, or a longer resonator.. any help guys? why is the noise raspy?

The noise you hear is called fart. This is vibration of the exhaust when you poop it out.
Get a bigger resonator and you'll be fine to lessen the vibration.

Mandrel bent piping will not make a noticeable difference in sound, but a bigger resonator will

okay, thx for the help
i thought i was safe with the single resonator
but i guess i will search for a larger / better one..
can anyone suggest a specific type / dimension?
also, will it be able to replace the one in there right now? its welded in on both sides and will it change the sound dramaticly (volume & tone) or just drop the buzzing?

i would estimate that i have a 17" resonator..
so the same size as my c*ck give or take a few inches
how big should i go?

there is a difference between fart and buzz...my world sport had a small buzz to it...but my es has a smooth tone...my old N1 was fart!

i had a pin hold in mid mid ipe that was making the car buz at WOT. went away when i replaced the mid pipe. i know yours is all new but might want to double check the clamps so they are tight enough
my es oval with 2.25" piping and resonator buzzes sometimes. It doesn't do it all the time though...i think just when i have been driving it a whole lot. If i let it sit for a while it will sound better.
