well find your clutch cable. it goes from the firewall to the tranny. at the tranny end, there is a little wheel that you can spin one way or the other which loosens it/tightens it.
I believe you have the same problem as me..the shifter is just difficult to move from gear to gear...
Let me know if just adjusting the clutch cable fixes your problem.....
Is there any way to fix the syncros in the tranny, without buying a new one? If that is the problem...

BRAKE FLUID
Get some oil and a squize gun go under your car and look on the passanger side under neath kinda next to the axle boot (to the tranny) it is a 17mm bolt open that up and squirt in oil untill it comes back out this may help your tranny could be low on fluid

if you have hasport mounts, the new bilet units, the motor tilts forward. Just because you've put the required amount of oil does not mean it's enough. Make sure the car is leveled and then put hte oil in. You'll notice that it takes a bit MORE.

Why dont you use search button. We discusted this problem long time ago.
Here try this buy some tranny fluid something cheap (2quarts) drain your old (do this when the car is hot ) tranny fluid(i bet you that in your tranny you have motor oil)if you never change it. Put that cheap fluid in drive the car for couple days and get your self Honda tranny fluid(2quarts). Drive the car couple mins till its gets(purpose of the cheap fluid was to flush the tranny of all the dirt) and put now that Honda tranny fluid. Now should be smoother than before. If that dont work nothing you can do except if you get newer tranny.
Little work out wont hurt your hand. But your pocket will.

If I recall correctly, I read a thread re: similar issues on dseries.org & Mistabone who has done tons of research w/ d series trannies said that a lot of peoples "synchro" issues are actually screwed up linkages. I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure that is what he said. It's worth a look.
check for shift linkage to be bad and tight.,
check that cable of clutch its adjusted
make sure ur pressure plate isnt bad.... usually is this....
bad synchros will grind, they wil not prevent a gear to go in...
changin fluids dont do nuttin......

i got the same problem... but it only started when i installed the short shifter... for some reason my friend said it was for the d16... but the shifter is actually shorther (width wise) and when i tightened it it actually bent the fork of the linkage in. I love the short shifter but sometimes when i rev high or ds, it grinds gears. gimme some help here.
