Stripped the upper tranny mount bolt holes. Now what?????
Pulled my tranny today to install the new clutch. Everything went smooth until i reinstalled the upper tranny mount bolts.
I stripped out the 2 holes below:
What can i do to fix these? Helicoil maybe?
Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks, JV

Tap & Die.
They (one of the 2) are used to fix threads
Try a search on "stripped bolt" or something along that line and you should get some info on what I am talking about.

this happened to my friend a while back is actually broke the holes apart to where u couldnt even put a bolt in he ended up getting a tranny case for 75 bux and swapping the tranny guts into it.
you're gonna have to tap it out larger, instal helacoil, and then use your old bolts...
how did you strip those??? Diddn't you have a jack under the tranny while you were loosening them???
Healacoil is your best bet and easiest bet now

i say put heli coil, i stripped my block{where the head bolts go} and the machine shop recomends putting heli coil, its better then rethreading aluminum he says, but i don't know, go talk to your machine shop
