Stock S2000 Dyno Results
not bad....for some reason the 2000's dyno at a lower number than the later ones....heard it has to do with a different ecu being used? Then again your not stock..I'm assuming you have intake and exhaust....
Yeah, that is what I have heard also.
I have a JR Air Filter, Comptech Flywheel, and Spoon N1.
The motor is a 02 motor with 15k miles.

Flywheel was like $450... weighs like 8.5 pounds... revs really fast but rpm drops fast too. I think this one is too light.
Yeah, new motor... KABOOM to the 00 motor, oil starvation in #4 cylinder.

Interesting dip before VTEC......got a VAFC yet?
I would lower your x-over and get ride of that dip
Not bad for a bolt-on 2.0L though....any plans for cams?

my 2000 HKS exhausted and Volk wheeled (but otherwise all stock) S2000 went for 203.4 rwhp on a dynojet...... we didn't do torque...they were too lazy to take off my spark plug covers...
The power dip before VTEC is quite common among VTEC motors, the i-VTEC technology seems to have considered this when engineering the power delivery of the engine.
I do not have a V-AFC yet... I doubt I would benefit much from it right now.
The lack of ability to tune cam timing in the F20C makes the addition of aftermarket camshafts almost a waste of money, so I it is not likely that I would do so.

I tuned up to 208 with the V-AFC. I haven't dynoed it again with the Comptech intake, HKS exhaust, or Type1 test pipe. I would hope for 210-215.</TD></TR></TABLE>
what exactly did you tune with the V-AFC-- whats th crossover and did you lean out your motor a little?

A VAFC would always be a good idea.....if I am not mistaken some AP owners have gained as much as 15whp with tuning and on basically stock motors (maybe a bolt-on or two)
So you think cams wouldnt help you much huh
And about the dip, My 00 B18C5 no longer has one...gained 8-10ftlbs and hit peak torque earlier and smoothed out VTEC transition. On basically a motor with a small header...nothing exotic in the setup. I would imagine an AP owner could gain more but....maybe fuel tuning has no effect on F20's???

Yes, I leaned mine out quite a bit on top and right at the VTEC changeover. I really wish I had my dyno plots to show but I did it quite some time ago. Honda sets the VTEC switchover artificially high on all of it's performance motors. The sudden kick makes the car feel faster even though it slows it down slightly. My VTEC is set to change at 5500 right now and I actually lower that to 5300 when I'm autoXing. I have just a slight dip with it set at 5500 and no dip what so ever with it set to 5300. Also, I've tuned a couple B series with a V-AFC and I was suprised to see how much more rich F20Cs run. I took out 11 up top .
