I'm rebuilding my b16 but i'm putting the
b17 crank and rods in it with
oversized ctr pistons,
gsr head
jg intake mani.
toda header
ctr cams
trust flywheel
and i think that's it for now... let me know what you guys think

jg manis are for turbo
dont waste your money on a toda header.
get a different clutch instead of the flywheel unless in combination.

carefull with the compression on the street. dont do any milling, and use a stock headgastket or maybe a 2 layer.
get a clutch before the flywheel or as a combo as forementioned.
get a skunk2 manifold and port it, clean up the seams.
header is OK, but overpriced...get an ANR, headertech, or even a modified JDM 4-1 with a bigger collector, and some porting to the primarys

how much is that flywheel? im guessing its pretty expensive.... im building up my engine too and im getting the action stage 1 MD metal unsprung clutch for 298 and the karui 4.4Kg flywheel for 300, so then for 600 ill have a pretty decent setup. for the amount of money youll spend on the TODA header (believe i like toda stuff, its just not worth it) you could get a beautifully done header that was custom made such as the header tech header for 800 if you were going to spend that much thats definetly a better way to go. well good luck with whatever you decide to do man, let us know how it turns out!!!

theres nothing wrong with that compression itll barely be high 11's. 13:1 is fine for dtreet use on 93 octane with proper tuning
dont port a skunk2 manifold itll mess it up

a gsr head, with ctr pistons will be high enough...
and being that hes on the west coast, not sure if he can get 93 octane maybe 91.
and who the hell told you that porting the skunk2 manifold will mess it up?
ive had it done 2 separate times on separate motors, and gains were found throughout....and it raised the powerban up a little higher, which he will need with big cams and high compression son.
and i guess porting the jdm 4-1 will mess it up also right?
personal experience here bro...what are you going off? what someone typed?

Set-up sounds pretty good. OEM reliability. JG manifold is over kill. Just go with an ITR manifold and thorttle body. TODA header is by far one of the best production headers on the market and was proven in the great header test. Personally if I were gonna spend the money on it though I would call Dave @ SMSP or John @ Hytech. Do you already have an aftermarket clutch? If not for your set-up if you wanna stay OEM just get an ITR clutch, if not go Exedy or CM stage 0 or 1 at the most. If you are gonna be draggin ACT HDSS for your set-up.
By the way porting the primaries on the JDM 4-1 and opening up the merge collector to match that of a single walled JDM 4-1 (spoon, toda, mugen etc..) netted me 3-4whp.
from me.

When you find you are not making enough power put the bottle on it. Push of a buttom and you are out. anyway good luck.

okay lets see. heres what i think about the use of VictorX manifold on a NA applicaion.
It iv very, very, very over killed. you might see a slight gain in the peap power but your ENTIRE power-band will suffer. thats the truth!
getting a skunk2 or ITR manifold is the best route. I personally would not port either manifolds unless i sent it out to a shop who has exspericence with it. Port matching the intake manifold to the head and TB is not always the best. For your mild application i would not do anything with the manifold!..... do some reaseach on how vacume and fundimentals of anti-reviersion and how air flow works.
Toda headers are very very nice. But for the money there are other headers out there that will give you the same or better results like SMSP, AN-R, and hytech.
Porting your exhust manifold you self is ok though.
get the flywheel in any case. You don't have to have a super strong clutch. An ITR clutch would be best in OEM clutches.
every thing else looks good.

Thanks everyone.... everything that i mentioned i already have.... I got EVERYTHING at a great price.... i might still go nitrous with the venom vcn 2000.... thanks again
if your running a larger displacment extreme compression with high lift and duration intake, porting a skunk2 isnt a bad idea only if you have a flow bench to acutally see what your porting and when it becomes overkill with too much air flow and not enough velocity, on your set up i wouldnt. but it can be done,

the guy from endyn took around 2 pounds of material off his skunk2 manifold just in porting alone, keeping in mind this was also on a crazy b20vtec.

..your gonna go nitrous on a high-compression OEM cast piston????? ive already had bad experience with GSR head and CTR pistons and 91 oct (untuned)..but your gonna take it a step farther with nitrous????
