Need Info on Dc5 ABS removing?
why? anyway, if you must, take out the abs fuse, and it goes to basic 4 wheel disc., however, you will need the tech manual to reset the codes it will most likely kick after you disconect the system.
i lost my last car due to the fact i didn't have abs,if it were me i would leave it alone unless you are going to enter a ONE MAKE RACE or something!
good luck!

Get yourself a Helm's manual. After that you'll be good to go. Oh yeah, i hope this car will be a "track ONLY" car. ABS is a lot safer on the streets.

It's the stock tires for sure. If you're comparing the RSX ABS to the newer Type R ABS, i believe the 2000-2001 ITR's have a 4 channel ABS system. The RSX Type S only have a 3 channels ABS system.
If your'e not happy with the ABS why not just try new brake pads first?
But anyways, here's the link to order the Helms manual:

Good luck with whatever you do!

do you have stock tires? I am guessing so.........when I put the stock tires on, ABS irritates the crap out of me, but with any other tire, I have never had it come on
I'm wondering would that still be considered street legal after removing the ABS from an ABS equiped vehicle? I know one thing though, if your insurance ever found out you removed your ABS they probably won't cover your car any longer or raise your premium up real high.
Cars with ABS, airbags, and other "saftey devices" allows for discounts through different insurance companies.
I guess this doesn't apply to you since your Type S will be a track only car.

With stock tires I had constant ABS chatter going into parking lots or whatever, but wtih Azenis Im lucky to hear it once on an auto-x track when I do a sudden turn around (improperly). It has alot to do with the surface consistency, too.
I believe someone posted tests that found the ABS was shorter distance 60-0 than non-ABS on the EP. but you might have more experience modulating the brakes manually than the average person.
If you're race only, a Helms is essential (try to download it while its available). And it plainly states where the fuse and wiring and computer is for ABS.
Ask about ABS removal over in the auto-x/roadrace section... Im sure they have some good insights about the pros n cons.
...and let us know how it turns out!

You would be better off using the ITR as the track car and the RSX-S for a daily driver.

Make sure you get some pictures up when you're done with the DC5 race car.
