Any tips on removing oil seal from right side cover?
I'm trying to remove the crankshaft oil seal from the right side cover on my b16. The engine is out and the right side cover is off. I can't get the thing to budge...anyone have any tips on getting it out? thanks
Drill 2 very small holes in it 180 apart with a drill bit and screw in 2 drywall screws then pull on them evenly. This isnt the best way because you risk getting foreign material in the pan, so be sure to be careful and thoroughly clean out the pan.
The proper way would be to pull pan and take the pump off and replace it that way.

well thats not really a problem since the cover is off of the motor so ill try that method..thanks. BTW im talking about the bigger seal on the right side cover not the oil pump seal.
The front main seal?
If the motor is pulled why not just disassemble and check everything. Shouldnt take too much time.

The seal on the opposite side of the oil pump...the flywheel side. The motor is completely dissassembled, im doing a rebuild. I have all new gaskets and seals from honda and im trying to remove that seal and replace it but it wont budge.
i just smacked it out w/ a hammer and a flathead, just make sure you hit the seal out the right way.. You knock it out towards the outer side of the seal.
