What kind and what weight of oil do you guys run? What kind of spark plugs also?
I run Mobil 1 super synentic 5w30.. I found out today, i can run royal purple 5w30 for about 5 bucks cheaper then the mobil 1. I can buy the royal purple in a 5 gallon drum.
Should i go with a heavier weight?
What oil you guys running?
What spark plugs are you guys running to? Whats the best for turboed cars?

Running Pennzoil regular blend 10W30 in my turbo car and my work car, stopped using mobil 1 when they changed their additives package. Using NGK V power racing plugs in the 8 heat range in the turbo car.
a local shop (East Coast Pecsion-NJ) told me to use 20w-50. I found it kind of wierd. My motor only has 67k on it. Doesn't burn any oil. ONly been boosting for 1000 miles. Is that too thick?
Amsoil 10-30 Turbo Synthetic
Amsoil series 2000 20-50 stuff
(Race day) .
Zex Turbo Plug's or NGK 7's
And no 20-50 is not too thick. It will not burn off as much as a lighter weight and since your turbo honda probably has no problem bulding heat it couldn't hurt.

Bobistheoilguy.com- http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi? is the best forum on the net for oil information. Don't take everything an individual person might post on that forum as the gospel truth, but some of these guys know their ****.
My opinion is that that royal purple is somewhat of a gimmick. It doesn't even stay purple, so that is a gimmick in itself. Spend the extra 5 bucks for Mobil, even though I'm not a total Mobil fan.
Spark plugs?...I run cheap NGKs and replace them more often...BKR7E's (6097).

Mobil 1 15w-30 Synthetic.
I want to try some of that Redline, or Royal purple. OR even that new Valvoline VR1 racing oil.
I use NGK BKRE7_ _ _ _ -11 Iridium spark plugs.

i think i've heard about this stuff before, or read about it somewhere in the past.
they don't happen to sell the Honda Gold over here in the US do they?
at the dealership or from someone on H-T maybe?
prolly not but i figured it's worth a shot.
do you use the Honda Gold synthetic oil on a turbo motor or N/A?

i used the NGK BKR7E-11's on my N2O motor last year, but i plan on using a #8 NGK plug for the new turbo motor.
is there a BCPR8ES plug from NGK?
or is the R5672A plug the only one that comes in an #8 or colder rating?
and as for the oil i've never used a synthetic before, but i'm considering doing so on the new motor since it'll be boosted. i normally use Castrol GTX, 5-30 or
10-30, sometimes even 10-40 in the summer when it's hot.

something similar about redline, not sure though, has anyone else heard anything fishy about those 2 brands?

I think that is BS about the Royal purple. I have used it for about 9 years now and no problems. I have used in sport bikes and now all my cars run it.
You must have missed my post on Spark Plugs.

no actually i read alot of what was on there, and i knew quite a bit of it from when i talked to NGK awhile back. but that was some time ago and i couldn't remember everything they told me, also i never asked them about the BCPR plugs before.
so that's why i figured someone would know off hand instead of me finishing reading your thread or calling NGK up again.
thanks for the link though.
