I thought I would post pics of my new custom turbo setup. I use to have a Greddy setup which is a great starter kit, but as with everyone else, I wanted more. I was just going to buy another kit then I decided to do some research and piece together my own setup. Am I glad I did. My brother (Max Diesel) on this board did most of the work since my wife and I recently had our first child so this took most of my time. Alot of time was spent customizing the intercooler pipes and custom mounting slimline fans (Autozone specials by the way), mounting the intercooler, etc. The condenser had to be custom mounted since the OEM fan is what supports it. My brother made custom aluminum brackets to hold everything securely. Very nice and clean install that looks like it came from the factory.

Here is the current setup with my ratings on the quality as well as fitment:
Maxrev Manifold (9 out of 10)
Maxrev Downpipe (9 out of 10)
Maxrev Dumptube (2 out of 10, it didn't fit for **** and I had to have it welded and repositioned)
Drag turbo intake kit (8 out of 10, because of the freaking price (Thanks Damon for the working with me on the price though)
Revhard intercooler piping (5 out of 10, A lot of cutting on the intake pipe as well as the other pipes)
PWR intercooler (9.5 out of 10, worth every penny)
Garrett T3/T4 .63ar 60 trim (360 degree option)
HKS SSQV BLow Off Valve (7.5 out of 10, because the way it is mounted is crap)
800cc RC injectors (For the future block arrival)
Hondata S200 (Full system including Romulator and Pocket Programmer 2, etc)
2 slimline 12" Autozone fans.

I am currently having a block sleeved at GE and Endyn Rollerwaves coming along with Eagle rods with the bolt upgrade option. Should be complete in a couple of months. Iam in the process of street tuning the HOndata as well as learning the software at the same time. Mad props go out to Boosted Hybrid for his BIG help with my Hondata tuning questions. Props also go to Gruvytune in the Hondata category.

As far as the intercooler piping not fitting, it had nothing to do with the custom intercooler. The stuff just didn't fit in places. It was WAY off. The intercooler is the same exact size as the Revhard one anyway.

Here is a funny pic. This is a downpipe off a 2003 Duramax Diesel Truck. It actually looked like it only need cut with a couple of flanges welded on. Pretty close.

Fixed. Sorry about that. Also added pics of the garage and lift.

Manifold was $420 and Downpipe with extra 2 feet of 3" stainless piping and flange was only $320. Very nice stainless piece. Highly recommend.

That is one of the first Fluidyne ever produced I think. It is 6 years old.
The car runs great and it spools a hell of a lot faster than I thought it would. I think it is because of the free flow exhuast. 3" helps!!!

The motor you using now is stock I take it, correct.
When do you see boost by on that w/ the 60trim w/ .63a/r.
Did you take any pics of the bracket made to hold the i/c?

I'm running an open downpipe right now & I can't stand it.
Is it very obnoxious with no cats or resonator, just a muffler?

It is loud but nothing like an open downpipe. Put some mufflers on that baby!!

Yes, still have AC & Power Steering and I won't get rid of them. Luxuries I must have!!

Also, I do have a picture of the intercooler mounted but it is at home. I will post tomorrow night guys. I have MANY other pictures too if you want me to post. Let me know. I will also post pics when we do the JimFab install.

Other than that, I just want to get the thing tuned right for now. Still waiting on the Golden Eagle block. COME ON GE, FINISH IT!! HEHE

Piece of advice: take the breather filter and remove it, and run the hose further down towards bottom of motor. Looks alot cleaner, and if any blow by should occur, it wont get your upper hood and motor dirty.

thanks for the advice. I was going to get rid of the yellow line anyway so I will move it downward a bit.

Also, I have great pictures of the oil line installs. Both pressure and return that I will post. We used all AN line for it. I will post tomorrow when I get home.

 

All these stock Z6 boost threads are making me think pretty dang hard.
I like the idea of a completely gutted hatch for Autocrossing using a
turbo Z6.

 

Its that a 94-95 Si, or just the valve cover. I like the car alot.

Actually, first year 92. I got the valve cover at a junk yard and had it painted to match the car.
