sup guys...last week at school we installed AEM's tru-times on my bros ls....well the install was easy and we got everything running ok..timing was right(but we still havent done the ignition timing)now heres the problem..we hear like a rattling noise,only between 2k 3k,before or after that rpm range and the ratlle is gone..completely...we have been tryin to figure out what it is and we still cant figure it out...at first we figured maybe the hydraulic lash adjusters were bad and we checked them and they where horrible...fixed em got em nice and mint...the car definetly ran better but the ****** noise is still there...and i swear its only between 2k and 3k...one of my other classmates had did them same thing with his civic ex and he noticed the same thing...as far as the setting on the sprockets we adjusted the intake to open 5 degrees sooner and left the exhaust alone...any comments and veiws would really help guys...thanks in advance...

Are you positive its coming from the engine bay?

 

im almost positive its an upper end noise...but i havent taken a stethiscope(sp?) to the block

 

listen by the exhaust manifold. might be a heat shield. my gsr had a rattle at 3k
thats what it was.
