SCCA (Solo2) question about rules regarding brake mods
My question is two parts actually. I've heard of people switching to non ABS on their ABS equipped cars, for example on a GSR taking out the whole ABS unit and swapping it with a non-ABS Integra RS brake lines and MC. I know its illegal to take out your ABS and I know that SCCA has very strict rules but would a GSR that switched to non ABS pass tech inspection and be able to run, lets say in STS class??
Second part of my question is why? Why do people convert to non ABS?? Is it because of weight reduction? Or does it have anything to do with braking or some other technical reason? Thanks

In Solo 2 Stock STS and possiably Street Prepard it is illeage to disable ABS, howver if the fuse is blown... well... now In road racing people do it buecase of weight or they melt thier abs sensor and don't replace them.
People like to disable them on some cars due to the fact that they are three channel system, 2 sensors for the front one for both rear wheels, so if you lift one up it enagages abs.
