it looks like it doesnt fit and ive seen a few preludes that have done this is there an alternative way? thanks

 

On my 4th gen, had to do a lil cutting...

 

you don't really have to cut, you can just bend the sides of the hole to fit it in there.

 

I cut a small section out with a dremel, filed the edge, and lined it with a rubber hose slit to fit around to keep from scratching the intake. works beautifully.

Here's a picture, but this was before i ran the rubber all the way around, you get the idea.

 

so thats what i diid wrong. when i installed mine i put the mounting piece inside the fender well. it was a bitch getting that thing bolted in there, oh well it works.
