i boosted, say 10 psi on my h22a that shows 240 on a compression check all across except for #4 which is lower, at 190. i suspect it to be the rings, i had a small amount of water ingestion. would putting FI on this motor just tear it apart quicker? or could i survive long enough to save for a rebuild of the block?

 

I say rebuild then turbo it. Why take the risk of breaking donw somewhere?

 

when you do the compression test add some oil to cyl. #4. if the compression raises dramatically then its your rings. if not look other places like valves

 

well you see the head was just completely rebuilt about 4k miles ago... so i know its not the valves.

 

I would rebuild first cause then you risk more damage in the long run. And I would hate to see your car getting towed out of firebird, yeah i've seen you aroud a couple of times you have clean swap bro.
