Starting Issues....
Question... wondering if other R owners are have issues when starting the car... It seems most times I try to fire the engine up, it starts very quickly, however, sometimes, I have to turn the key awhile longer... seems odd to me...
I crank it right away.... put the key in and turn...
By the way, the car is maintained well... I replace the plugs every year... the wires are stock...

slow it down a little, you probably don't need to wait more than a second with stock setup. place the key in ignition, turn it, wait 1-2 seconds and crank it.. i can't remember how it worked with stock setup - cause it wasn't much of an issue, but with my current setup i wait for check engine light to disappear after i turned the key all the way and then crank it.. or turn the key all they way, wait for the buzzing noise from fuel pump or lines to stop, then crank it

I wait until either the check engine light goes off, or I hear the fuel pump finish its start up process. I do this with any car, force of habit.

Yes... its nothing to worry about. Its completly random. Sometimes you have gas still in your cylendar and it sparks up quick... or you need a little more and it takes a little longer. Its just how engines work

giddy up... hey since we are on the issue of starting related issues... what is the purpose of units like MSD? Better spark, therefore, better performance, etc, etc, etc,
Also, how oftern do you guys replace your fuel filters.

Unless you have extensive mods. You don't need to Upgrade the ignition system.
But Yes, MSD etc... Bigger spark..blah blah.
I change all my filters and oil every 10,000 Kms ( 6213 miles ).

I think the manual says 60,000miles for fuel filters. I think I changed mine at 30K though just to keep things fresh.
