could be your shifter bushing.

if u jack the car up and look under neath where the shifter drops down look under there and look at your shifter bushing along with the bracket that holds your shifter in place it could be loose too happened to me b4

Ok your tranny is fucked and can't be fixed, you need a new one. Is that what you want to hear?

Just check your bushings like everyone is telling you. It wont cost you a dime to check. Geez!

ok thanks everyone.. and TonyXcom, no need to so harsh.. i knew it was not the bushings cause ive done a 5 swaps and never had this problem knew they were there.. my problem was that the metal peice used to hold the shifter to the tranny, that needs to be punched out was mangled, so a friend put a bolt in there, there was freeplay and the bolt was not big enough causing it move back and fourth.. a friend a shop fixed it for me all i had to do was order him a new one for his race car cause he gave me his..

Well i hate the same problem.. Every car is differnt. I have a short shifter and new Energy Suspension bushings... still lose in all the gears.. My Boy's Si is very tight in every gear.. doesnt really move. Its internal, cause you can only tighest down the bracket so much before is bends and becomes very hard to shift... just deal with it.. i do. still shifts like a champ though.
