Length of AEM V2?

Length of AEM V2?
I am interested in getting a V2 ( the CAI I think is a better deal, but i don't feel like dealing with the bypass valve), which brings me to my question. How long is it? Is it low enough to be in danger of hydrolock? I have a 98 EX M/T so if anyone has this intake I would aprreciate some feedback. Also if you have time how does it perform?

it wont sit that low if you dont drop your car as much. i had it on my 00 ex. you could also check out the aem site http://www.aempower.com, although i dont know if they have the dimensions on how low it sits. i think its alright.

it sits in the same place as the regular cai, so forget that.
but, it's a 2 piece design, so you can take the lower part off and put the filter on the upper pipe, and have a short ram in wet weather. the only thing is the lower part has the bracket to hold it up, so i have fabricated a custom system of rope and zipties to hold mine up.
this is really the only good thing about the v2. if you're scared about hydrolock, get a short ram in the first place. also, i'm not too impressed with the performance of it. it's just loud, which makes you think it's faster. here's one of a few threads i've read about it sucking: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=771393
finally - and most importantly - you replace the oe front transmission mount bracket with one they supply, which has a hole for the bracket to hold the intake up. the bracket sucks, the bolts they give you really really suck: they're low grade, an inch too short, and have rusted in a few months. if you get the intake, get quality bolts, instead of the 10 cent ones they give you. also the torque specs are wrong in the instructions. it's 47lbft, not 61. i found out the hard way...... aem was no help in paying for the repair, after i stripped the tranny case due to their bullshit torque specs, for a bullshit design.
overall, i give the aem v2 a
