Clutch install problems
I am asking this for a friend.
99 Si: Just put a CM3 clutch and lightened flywheel in. With engine off, the shifter will run through the gears fine, but with engine on and and clutch pedal depressed it is REALLY tough to shift gears. Car drives, it is just hard to shift. Tranny fluid is fine. The only thing I can think of is the pedal adjustment. Anybody have any ideas???
I did a quick search couldn't find a post with same problem. Thanks

I would check the peddle adjustment and also the linkage. Make sure the mounts are all secure and the linkage wasn't bent. Have you checked to see how much movement the clutch fork has?
check the pedal adjustment.
freeplay has alot to do with this. too much it wont disengage.
too little and it wont fully engage.
freeplay is the ammount of travel the pedal has before it reacts on the clutch.
should be 3/4-1 inch. no more no less. the adjustment is made on the pedal. 12mm wrench, on the rid that connects to the master cylinder.
hope that helps.

i am having a similar problem with my d16. i installed the clutch properly, replaced the master cylinder, replaced the slave cylinder and bled the system with a full bottle of fluid. I just cant get it to go into gear when the car is running. It will go into gear fine with the engine off, but with the car on, no luck. I can put it into gear with the car off, start the car, and the car pulls forward with the clutch petal all the way to the floor (full disengage) i have also adjusted the petal travel and the fork travels the required distance (3/4-1") I am at a loss and am not trying to jack this threat either. this fits into what problems (similiar) i am having. thanks everyone for helping us!!
i want to boost but first things first and this clutch is the first thing....
