Default RS*R for h22, i have h23...

Just picked up this used RS*R, so tell me if i'm right... it will have to be cut shorter and the flange welded back on, and the bolt holes in the flange will have to be widened/moved? Which bolt holes should be widened? Those on the exhaust or the CAT? Anything i'm missing? Wanna make sure i know what i'm doing.

How much do muffler shops generally charge to do this work? I want to do it myself but don't have the right tools, and the crappy muffler that the previous muffler had put on has extra hangers welded on in odd places/orientations that will have to be cut off.

Lastly, any suggestoins for cleaning/polishing the muffler and tip??

haha, well now that throws a kink in things. I thought JDM exhausts always needed to get cut shorter to fit b/c JDM cats were shorter. I tried to pull my stock exhaust off and hang this one to see how much but some hangers are gonna have to be cut off so i couldn't.... Just by laying it out under the car though it looked to be very close to the same length. Within an inch or two maybe.

Thats right about an inch. But if you dont make it longer the muffler will bang on your rear sway bar

(try a couple of flanges, you can get them at a exhaust shop)

yep, you will have to elongate the holes outward.

You can clean it really well with Simple Green. If you're looking for stuff around the house, Windex works just as good(go figure!).
