Tein SS vs. FLEX(searched a lot)
im debating between buying these two system's, but i can't seem to find the info i need. my car is a daily driver, but i plan to auto-x about 2-3 times a month, so i dont need anything too aggressive. how are the SS on the track vs. the type FLEX? which one has the better spring rate, etc...
any info is greatly appreciated.

been there, still didnt get the info i need, i also have a tein pamphlet that is of no use. no one around here has either set so i cant really get a good word of mouth.
From what Tein told me, the Flex is suited more for comfort, while the SS is better suited for the track. I don't believe what they said because the FLEX has a higher spring rate and an adjustable cup/bracket for ride height. The FLEX also has a coating to resist corrosion. For street/auto-x, get some custom rate GC/Koni shocks.
http://www.tein.com has all the info you need as far as spring rates go. Assuming you drive a '99 Si, or any usdm 96-00 Civic for that matter, here are the spring rates:
Flex- 504f/280r
SS - 448f/224r
I recently installed the SS on my 97 EK and as far as I know, it is a very streetable setup. The Flex is the higher end model compared to the SS with slightly higher springs so I'd assume that the Flex is more suited for the track than the SS!

for the higher price of the flex. I would get the SS since some people sell this for like 900 here and then get custom spring rates for them for 200 more. or like someone said. koni/custom gc's would be cheaper.
I just put on the flex on my 00 Si and they feel great. I have them on the hardest setting and it doesn't feel stiff at all. no loud noise coming from the pillow ball mounts either. My friend has Apexi N1 on his Si and they're loud when he hits bumps. With the hardest setting you feel everything on the road. So this weekend imma mess with the settings and see how it goes. With my initial testing after I put them on, I went and hit a turn going about 85+ before my tires lost grip and I felt no body roll at all. I first tested with myself in the car then I added three more ppl in the car for my second run, and the ride was just smooth when I hit the corner the second time,. So I say these coilovers are great. I got them for $1245 shipped from turboevolution. they are on http://www.groupbuycenter.com. Service was good. I ordered through paypal and within a week they came in. I'm saving up for the Beaks 22mm sway bar kit next. I hope this helps.
