Tein HA vs Tein SS
Hey guys, what's up, i own a 97 civic hatchback, just wondering what he real differences in these two sets of full coilovers are. I always hear good things about the HA's, but hardly ever hear about the SS's...let me know guys, thanks!

Re: Tein HA vs Tein SS (VoltageLS)
i have the ss's on my 92 civic and and i believe the only difference is the spring rates and the missing helper spring. but as i looked into it i noticed that the ss's for the gsr have the same spring rate as ha for the eg civic but once again minus the helper spring.

Tein HA Damper
The SS is a street version with 8kg front = 448lbs and 4kg rear = 224lbs. Not as agressive.
The HA model is like a track version but streetable. With 10kg Front = 559lbs and 7Kg Rear = 392lbs. A bit stiffer, some may find it too stiff for their tastes. But it's up to you and what you're into.
If you're getting Tein's just to tell everyone you have them, don't waste your money, if you're serious about handling and performance go with a higher model maybe HA or even RA if you've got the cash and don't mind the harsh ride.

Super Greg:
Are you familar with the spring rates on the Apex N1 dampers (Type R version).
The reason why is ask is because I want to know how the Apex N1's compare to any of the Tein models. I had the N1 99' version a year ago before I sold them, and for the past 3 months i've been breaking my head on what to get.

LOL im not Super Greg! hehe.
Sorry, I looked around and I couldn't find any specifications on N1 dampers.
A friend of mine has I believe the 99 Spec N1's and the spring rate doesn't seem as high but once the dampening is turned up a few notches the thing gets super stiff and almost unbearable to drive. They're nice but really pricey.
