Default SH*T!!!! clutch problems on my 4th gen Si

ok, the clutch won't diengage, you push th pedal in, and nothing happens, you have to "truck shift" the damn thing, and it's near imppossble to start out, i bledd the clutch, and when the pedal is depressed, the rod on the slave cylinder moves in and out like it should.

i am thinking its one of the following:
seized up throwout bearing
bad pressure plate
bent fork

anyone else got any ideas???

it could also be that you lost a spring from your friction disc and it got lodged between your friction disc and your flywheel or your pressure plate, or the same thing happened with a piece of the pressure plate. could have also fused the friction disc to either of the two. a bent TB fork is very unlikely.

I have a problem with my clutch/tranny too in my 4th Gen. Most people are telling me that my preesure plate or throwout bearing is bad. I hope so. I hope it is not my tranny.

My car gets stuck in gear...or it locks me out of gear.

Let me know if you find out what is wrong with your car.

i'd like to pull the tranny myself, but as of now, it is easier for me to just pay to have it done (working 2 jobs, not enough hours in the day) i'll prolly take it in tomorrow if the local garage i use will be open, i'll let everyone know how it turns out

If this is my problem...would I need to get a new flywheel???
I want to make sure that when the car goes in that I have all my bases covered.
Thanks

sam if you need a new clutch for it, i have my old ACT sitting in my garage. Pressure plate, clutch disk, and throwout bearing. It has roughly 3000 miles on it and is in great condition. Let me know if you wanna buy it.

if you start it in gear with the clutch in, does it jerk and go foward. are you sure its moving as much as it should be. when my mine went bad, the slave cylinder would move, but not as much as it should.

i had the same thing happen. when they go, the clutch wont dis-engage.

it jerks and goes forward, i'll step on the gas just to get it to go, then i'll shift by just matching my speed and RPMs to get to another gear. i tryed bleeding of the clutch slave and it didn't help, the fluid is full, and the slave cylinder rod seems to be moving out far enough. ohh well, i am taking it to a local gargae today to see if they can fix it. b/c i can't get it done anytime soon myself
