questions about h's
Ok im looking to drop a h22 into my civic (I want to feel torque). I keep reading things about how the H's aren't good for high rpm's and things like that.
1) Does an H22 have problems at high rpms, even though the the springs retainers and bigger cams are in it?
2) What are the differences in the h22 and h23 block (besides stroke) if any?
3) I have heard the h22 tranny doesn't like to shift at high rpm's, is this true?
4) Would a h23 block/h22 head be too much torque for a little civic? (and what is this conversion called anyway) Are there any pluses to doing the conversion?
5) How is reliability with upgraded rods and pistons in an h22?
6) How much can a h23 or h22 block be bored?
7) What gearing do most people use? I'm thinking of putting a f22 5th gear in it, would it work?
8) Oh yeah and I know its wishfull thinking, but would the 6-speed accord tranny be able to bolt up to an H?
I think those are all of my questions, any other information would definently be appreciated

my H22A4 revvs just fine. out to the factory tach's 8000. (Granted the tach's factory and off by a few). The tranny has no problem shifting at those RPM's, atleast not for me.
oh and if you do stick the VTEC head on the Non-VTEC block then you'll start to limit what RPM's you can get to, as the bore/stroke ratio changes

H22= more displacement, more torque, revs almost as high, (i can take mine over 9k), turbo H22 is better, period
not that i am bias or anything
but seriously, Stephen Papdakis-H22, MotorMatrix- H22..... they are all making big power on the H22
oh, and the blocks are almost identical, excepot H23s don't have oil squirters
