would blow by
ok guys here is the problem i just build my motor but the is alot of with smoke coming out the valve cover breather i check the compresion and did a leakdown and it was good what would u do wait for it to break in or just take the whole motor apart and do it again we may think that it need it to be bore to .0020 over but i already had bout the piston for stock bore they said they would do the work for free again all i have to do is pay for the machined shop to get it hone and just pay for the new pistons
stock bore pistons in a used motor will smoke 9 out of 10 times
did you use new factory rings?
I always recommend bore and hone and oversize pistons

i think its caused by fried rings or something but what exactly is it and what causes it???

so what u guys r saying is all the f******** white smoke coming out my breather is because of my rings not being seated yet so like after 1000 miles the white smoke should go away then

It's when your piston rings don't seal real good. They let the high-pressure combustion gases past them, & into the cranckase.

yes. it can. when you feel gas in your stomach, and you're ready to dispose, how would you feel? lols. it's waste gas. that's when pcv's come in action.
edit:
so it is recommended to use a higher viscosity motor oil, when braking in a newly rebuilt motor? how high of a grade would you go up to? how about used, off the crate motors? just curious. much appreciated.

Now with blow by will you experience accellerated oil consumtion. I installed my own pistons and rings (first time too) and I always get afraid they didn't seal right, but I don't seem to be losing oil very much at all.
