Default help! paint starting to fade! what should i do?

Hi, I have a 94 stealth grey GSR. I park the cark outside because I do not have a garage, so it's in the sun a lot. Since my car is about 7 years old now, the paint on the rear part of the roof looks like it's starting to fade. I can't afford a new paint job, so what should I do? Thanks for your help.

Well if you can't get it painted now, start waxing it to protect it. But make sure you wash and scrub it real good to get all the contaminates off the surface. Get a clay bar, Mothers has one, and go from there.

You should

1. wash it
2. clay bar it
3. polish it
4. swirl remover (if u have swirls)
5. wax it (someone told me to wax it twice for better protection and wax the windows... I dunno, haven't tried it yet, not that waxing the window helps the paint)

u should check out sites like http://www.meguiars.com they also have toll free number in case u have questions about their products. I have used them myself and had excellent results, since I park outside too

2K1 GS-R-when you wash your car and the water does not bead up or preferably if it just beads up in large drops then it is time for a wax. You don't want to let it get so bad that it does not bead up at all. Small even drops are the best (about 1/4-1/2" across). This I know at least holds true with paste wax which is the only kind I have experience with.

hey,

i would jus leave it alone and let if fade, sooner or later its gonna get F***ed up anyway, why spend all that time and or money waxing or repainting. you should have take care of the paint when you first got the car. i say its too late to save the paint.

I think you should wax it every 3 months depending on the type of wax. Heck, some of my friends wax it every month. I wax it about 3-5 times a year, depending on how often it needs it.
