Default Time for a new alternator? Questions.

Today my car would not start up. There is a fresh new batterey that I purchased about 1 month ago. Here is what my run down of the problem that led me to think it's the alternator that is bad (and I want to see if I am correct).

*Battery = dead / will not start with jumper cables and I recharged it at a shop, placed it back into the car and still nothing happened

* Will not start from a roll + clutch pop

*Interior lights and all electrical things completely off

*Car will not click when starting

*Fuses all fine

*Battery lines to the battery are clean no corrosion

When the car is on the 1st click turn of the ignition I can press the horn and hazzard lights but they just make a clickclickclickclickclickclickclick sound. So has my alternator blew on me? Opinions greatly appricated. Thanks.

u recharged the battery, put it back in the car and still nothing happened? with a fully charged 12.6 volts battery that thing should start even with a bad alternator. u just wont last that long.

OTHER parts of what u said does suggest a problem with the charging systerm.

when the cars is on unhook your battery. if the car still runs your alternator is good.

edit: i dont think you can recharge a battery. i think its your battery since your interior lights or horn doesnt work

First do what he just say and if the cars dies, I'm pretty sure its you alternator...You can also open your alternator and check the brush (I don't know what it is really call) and check if to see if you need to replace it...That is all Kragen, Autozone, and all parts store do to the rebuilt alternator, they replace the brush...You can pick up another brush for about $20 or less at the dealer...thats all I did and it saved me a lot of money...

Did your battery charge light ever light up on your dash? It's probably your alternator, but once my car was dead to even a jump start and it was because my main fuse had blown.

Well I checked out my car again. I tested the voltage with a tool that lets you see if electricity is running through it (I don't know what the tool is called) and my battery grounds and fuses were fine. Even the battery was shooting out power. My uncle said a loose connection in the wires might be possible. Like one of you said my battery might have not any more life in it, but with a jump start shouldn't it start? I know its an electrical problem, it's just hard to narrow it down.

* Also with the car just left w/o the key in the ignition my radio light still blinks. Plus when a door is open with key just in the ignition the beep beep beeping is going on.

How can I check my car computer to give me a CEL code? But without electrical power would it even work?

Could any of the wiring be burnt?
