I have a pretty serious problem that I need to figure out asap. I have a 98' civic ex, a couple simple bolt ons, i/h/e, nothing too big. Well about a week ago my car died a few times and i had to get it jumped, but then today, I was driving around, and all of the sudden my speedometer began to flucuate, it was going back and forth between 0-120 very sparatically, at one point it actually did a full circle. Then all of my dash lights began to blink on and off, and later my headlights did the same. I went in and had my battery tested, and it tested fine, there are only about 60k miles on my car. Later tonight, my rpm gauge started doing the same thing as my speedometer, and my srs light began to blink on and off, along with other lights on my dash. All of my cabin lights, AC, etc were all blinking. I shut off my car after driving for about a half hour, and it wouldn't even start. Does anyone have an idea of what could be going on?

 

Sounds electrical to me. Check/test your alternator and make sure your battery terminals are secure.

 

wow..that happned to my civic the other week..i was just cruisin.and my speedometer was bouncing back and forth..so was my rpm gauge..my cd player cutted off..and my srs light came back on...then when i came to a stop light..it died..i turned the key..and the car started..and it was fine ever since..dont know the problem though

 

that aint good. prolly a short somewhere. with all that crazy **** goin on, i wood chek around the fuse box
