99 EK: Suspension build up and Mild engine upgrade project
Some guys have suggested for us to do a project step by step build up of the products we sell. We decided to start with a 99 Civic EX cpe.
1st up are the suspension upgrades.
SRR LCA
SRR Sway and rear brace
SRR Rear camber kit and toe kit
SPC front camber kit
- is scheduled to be done in the next 2 weeks(after I come back from Cancun.. hehe). That is the First stage of the suspension.
In June we'll do the coilover setup. but after the suspension is done, we will do the Exospeed cam upgrade and possibly head modifications at the same time. Bisimoto header as well as the Skunk2 intake manifold(when it comes out).
Current modifications on it are OBD1 conversion, DC 4-1 header and exhaust. We'll see what happens in the next weeks to come.

Nice..
What type of power is made from that cam in the Y8?
I am currently looking for a cam for my d16.
Btw what is the cost of the LCA's?

Re: 99 EK: Suspension build up and Mild engine upgrade project (Midwestrider)
quick question...in the picture with all the parts laid out, the SRR tie bar is black and polished. the tie bar in the car is the typical SRR colors, that red and light blue.
as much as i love the standard SRR tie bar colors i would much rather have the black and polished one. is that an option?

I'm about to make a completely non-tech response... But why are SRR parts so incredibly hideous? Do they think that all enthusiasts are color blind? What is wrong with just simple black, or polished, etc...? Yeah, I know function over fashion. However I don't really want brightly colored parts attracting any unwanted attention to my car.
Oh yeah... nice work. Let us know how it turns out.

Re: (kommon_sense)
kommon sense: i have no idea why they chose those colors hehe.
YA the pic for the full kit, the color is different on the rear brace. I messed up by putting that in the pic hehe.
the EK is the blue/orange and the EG is the silver and black.
midwestrider: with a super stock y8 with just intake and exhaust, the gain is about 5-8 HP to the wheels. that cam really works well once the head and intake manifold is opened up with some porting. we are working on a wilder sohc vtec cam righ tnow.. but not released yet.

Re: (sohc_boy)
errr hehe.. ya we get so many questions on the Y7 cam. I have 2 specs ready to go that we tried, but I dont like the results.. we jus ran out of cores to do more testing. and with all the diff motors out there.. its difficult to do all of them. At this time, our Focus is on the Billet DOHC VTEC cams. initial testing got 8hp and 5lbs tq over the Skunk2 stage 2. Those should be done soon and avail by June. the Y7, we'll see.. hopefully June we have more time to get more cores to try out again.
