Ignition Switch question. How do I know if its bad...
Currently my car wont start...my gauges go on when I turn the key, I hear the starter wanting to start but no go. When I turn my ignition on to hear the radio I get nothing... Any advice....
stock radio??......Radio's are connected to the ignition to only on with the hey in......when you turn on the car or try does the cluster light up?? like the warning signs and SRS etc?? if so I don't think it can be your ignition.
check your battery. If it's bad, or low it will not turn your radio on and the car will not start. Try hooking your car up to a battery charger and see if it'll start.. I'm betting it's your battery that is to low.
I had to replace an ignition relay switch last year. Occasionally when I turned my key, the starter wouldn't turn over. I don't really remember what else was or wasn't turning around at that point. At first I thought that my floormat was bunched underneath my clutch pedal, so I wasn't depressing it far down enough. I would automatically reach down to tug at the mat. Then the next try would start the car. Finally the switch got bad enough that it was getting cranky two times in a row, I realized the floormat had nothing to do with it...
Sorry for that long ramble. lol. Just trying to help. Good luck dude.

^^^ What he said^^^ Always start with the obvious stuff first.
I learned this is hard way. My low beams went out one night. I spent half the next day tracing switches, relays and wires with a DVOM, only to finally figure out I blew both my low beam headlight filaments at the same time.
