just got civic type r pistons on my gsr.will i feel the difference?
just got civic type r pistons that are oversized .25. will i be able to feel the difference compared to my old stock gsr pistons?and if i do,will it be low end power or high rpm power.
put it this way, your engine runs and makes power based on compression. you have about 2+ more points than stock. without tuning you wont realize all of it, I would estimate without IHE even stock GSR manifolding and computer/breather elements, cams, fuel etc you would see about 170/128 at the wheels SAE corrected. Stock GSR is 145/110 completely stock on average SAE corrected.
IHE and GSR cam/ecu tuning, 290ccs and fuel pump... dare I say 190/140...
R cams and retuning would jump you to about 215whp/145tq at the wheels.
yes you will feel a difference.

hey,
I was just wondering since the pistons you are about to install are made for a 1.6l
will you need to bore out your block or are they a direct fit. since are made to be oversized for a 1.6l.

Bore is the same, the stroke is different.

if you're talking about the d16 thats got a 75mm bore. the b series all have 81mm bore minus a few exceptions. the d16 could be bored out to 81mm but thats all you can go to, you'd be left with 1.8 liters.
