ok my ignition has been F-ing up the past few days like not staying in the On postition and the key not coming out...I also smelled some burning and its coming from a wire that leades up to the ignition, its gets real hot after a few minites and I can see the burn mark...my question is what do I need to do to fix it? how and what do I need?

 

Honda's had problems with their ignition switches-even on the Rexs back then.They did a re-call for them years ago.I had to replace mine a few months ago again.(the wire harness part of it-not the lock cylinder)

 

so I need to replace the wire harness?

 

How can you tell if they already took your car in for a recall or not? (Just got a CRX)

Not the whole harness--just the set that goes to the ignition-it just plugs in in a couple places.It's cheap,like under 30 bucks maybe.Dealerships carry them.

 

ok I really dont have any wiring experience exacept for a CD player install...thers nothing too hard about changing it right? or anything I should look out for?

 

will I just need to change the wires or also the igntion switch?
