Default rear quarter panel

when my eg was found after being stolen the tow company put some scratches and dents in the rear quarter panel. i dont want to spend 500 to get them removed and im not a big fan of bondo. i heard that you can buy just the sheetmetal panel and have it welded on. has anyone heard of this or done it?

yes, you can weld in a new quater panel, but unless the dents are HUGE then it makes more sense to just fix the dents with bondo. it's a lot of work to put in a new quarter, so if you're going to have a shop do it, be prepared to fork up some $$. i'm guessing the dents aren't that big; you should be able to knock them out with a hammer from the inside and then use bondo to smooth them over.
