Default For those attending the EXPO canyon run. (Please no read if you're tired of expo stuff)

Alright, I am planning on driving down from my hotel in Buttonwillow to attend the canyon runs. I believe most of us now know where it is starting from (if you don't, IM me or Zygspeed and we'll tell ya), however, I have heard wildly fluctuating meeting times, anywhere from 10am to after 12pm.

Do we have an "organizer" that can tell those who are going a time to meet up at the hotel site? This will allow me to make the hour plus drive down to Calabasas from ButtonWillow and not miss the boat (no pun intended Yosh ).

On the plus side, my father will be accompanying me, and is a professional photographer. With any luck, I can get his creative streak sparked and we can get some cool pics of both the pre-festivities, and the track days. I dont know with the waning support if the organizers hired a prof. track photographer or not. If not, at least we'll have some coverage of the event.

We're down to the wire folks. Just a week and a half left (less if like me you are driving over a thousand miles to get there). I'm looking forward to meeting everyone there.

Later.

- Garry

Hey Garry:
Unfortunately, we haven't been able to hire a photographer since we are on a tight (not tiite) budget. Would your father be interested in taking some photos for us? May not be much, but we will pay him.

please email ross aka The Wizard at <rolney@aed.delphiauto.com> regarding the canyon cruise. For obvious reasons, the details will not be posted here.

thanks,
yoshi

I figured that the budget restrictions had probably tossed that out. I'll discuss it with him. I'm trying to keep his involvement light as it is his vacation too.

As for what we can provide: Definitely if we are going to group all the cars for a big group shot, and I'm sure a number of track shots while the cars are running (if we can get him out on the course if he requests it to be out on a corner during a session it would be appreciated). From there, we can put up small scanned images, and provide prints at a TBD cost to those who are interested. I'm calling him later today to discuss a few other things and will confirm everything with him, then will post what I find out.

Thank you and to your dad!
I totally understand that he's on his vacation. I'm sure at least 1/2 the guys there will have some sort of camera so we'll have plenty of pix, but we'd like to just get a few "professional" shots

everyone:
remember to take photos and vdo of j00r whole trip so that we can get a vdo/ online photo album made of this event!

yoshi - who'll be there w/ his cam gears

Cameras ... disposable or re-usable? w/flash?
Rechargable batteries for the VDO.
Camera Mounts ... (oops, camera mounts are still a no-show w/the harness bar.)

Yoshi, thanks for the Canyon Cruise IM.

Well then bring it up on the trailer and we'll all help put it back together!
Maybe turn it into another B-20 ZTEC monster.

Alrighty folks, just talked to my father, he said he'd be happy to take some photos. He isn't in the digital age yet though, so don't expect a trailer with a digital printer in it and instant results. He'll be taking slides, which we will make a contact sheet out of on the web, and you'll be able to order photos through me w/paypal. Expect the photos to be up about a week after the event. We plan for a giant group shot (may as well use that 3rd floor observation lounge to it's full effect), in car shots (assuming we can find him a helmet) and also, track staff allowing, some external out on the track shots. How we will identify who is who I don't know. Any ideas on that one?

NUMBERS How about if we go by YY - #####
(car's year in two digits and then "serial number", or just the S.N. since there shouldn't be too many "duplicates")

Other tech requirements? (if any, run what you brung, had to start laughing to myself already)!
What's the on-track group breakdown look like? (full cage race cars vs. stock vs. partly modded).

You mean with electrical tape on the side of the car? I'm just trying to figure out a way to tell....say....my car from any other PY stocker out there, without resorting to anything that looks really ugly in what would otherwise be a good shot of me thrashing through a corner. I thought about my auto-x magnetics, but have concerns about them staying on at high speeds.

Any thoughts from experienced trackers on this?

I saw some vinyl numbers that just sort of "stuck" to the window w/soapy water (or the like)!

Elect. tape is a bit "tacky" hahaha
There might be some numbers or something at the track store or nearby.
Unless we order up some stuff from Summit Racing ... VTEC inside and some number sets.

I need to make a list!!!
