Training your VTEC?
I heard from one of my friends that we need to train our new car's VTEC for the first 3000 miles or so. Not quite training the motor but the ECU or the car's computer.
This kind of sounds funny to me. Is this true though? If so, how do you train the ECU properly?

The only training I know of is Rediness codes. It's explained in the manual, and the deal is if you car doesn't pass inspection and it throws this "rediness code" error to the inspection equipment, there is this whole process that has to be followed that is really strange... LIke accelerating to a certain speed , holding the RPM's at a certain RPM... decelerating etc... it's very strange... But I didn't do anything different for the first couple hundred miles except not hit v-tech or redline or really dog on the car... Never heard of this training other than that weird rediness code thing.
I like it (of course). Power is smooth, ride is great except for the ride height - it's too high.
Please see Colin Sato (colin@satoauto.com) of Pflueger Acura and mention my name (derrick). He's very good, and he got me good deals on my Type S.
