no vtec.... rev limit at 6500 in my em1
ok, so im driving today and the cel light comes on. so i use my diagnostic checker to see what it is. but as im drivng around. the car seems significantly weaker in the lower RPMs when i drive. then just to see, i tried to hit VTEC and nothing happens. and as im hitting 6500, the rev limit kicks in and it wont let me go any higher. so the car is stil driving, but its driving like crap now, but its still getting every where it needs to go. so then i go to check the code cuz i know a different code is pulling up. usually its the ussual. p172 too rich code. but this time, its the code p1259. there is no code for that. so it says " no DTC code listed see service manual ". but i just checked the H-t listings of codes on ODB2 cars and its in the list of codes that have to do with the A/F ratio and Air fuel sensors section. so i dont know whats going on with my car. if anyone can help me out. that would be great. iunno could it be the ECU going badly? just puttin something out there. and there is oil in the car as well. i just did the change the other day. so if someone can help me, please do soon!!

It could be that your vtec is broken. I'm having the same problem on my civic ex coupe 98'. So check the vtec or switch it out with a new or used one.

Re: (deadline)
i found out the problem. it was the ecu. i had an extra p2t and i had put it in and forgot about it. it turned out to be grbage. it has a lil corrosion on the inside, and water got in it at one point. it had some condensation. so problem solved. the ecu was throwing everything off!!!!
