Default flywheels

Im either going to run an XACT prolite or streetlite, someone mentioned that the lighter flywheel will hurt my mid/low range power

I tried running a search but didnt find an answer I thought truely fit my question... so basically, what does flywheel weight have to do with power output and what will that weight difference do to my torque/hp curves?

Keep in mind that the prolite is 8.8lbs and the streetlite is 12.5lbs

i got the prolite 8lb... it was cheaper than the aluminum ones and its chromoly so it wont warp. didnt notice any loss of low end at all. in my opinion if you want a 12lb FW you could just machine a stock FW. ive driven 3 cars not with FW's 8lbs or less and i see no reason not to have the lighter one. the 12lb might give you better launches (from what im told) as it will store more potential energy
