Anyone used diff flywheel weights?
I have a 7.5 lb flywheel on my B18C and its just too light feeling for me. I like the quick revs but it drops power uphill between shifts like crazy, it just doesnt carry the power very well. So I just wanna know if there are some people that have switched to a heavier flywheel or have used different weights? If so whats a good weight?

Re: Anyone used diff flywheel weights?
Use the Type-R flywheel, when you use the 7.5 or 8lb flywheel you loose alot of torque but gain quick rpm. So when going up hill you need the torque and that is why the rpm is dropping so fast because of the lighter flywheel.
The Type-R flywheel is great for all motor and boost also. its right in the middle of both torque and quick rpm's change power.

I installed a 12.5 pound flywheel on my old D16Z6 setup and liked it. I didn't have to worry about loosing much torqe..it simply didn't have it from the get go. But it accelerated a bit harder and had a bit better throttle response..or seemed to.
When I swapped in my LS I ran the stock weight flywheel for a little while..no complaints. I had 2 clutch spring holder tabs break so I had to drop the tranny and put in a new clutch. I put in a stage 2 clutch along with an 8 lb flywheel. I am dissapointed in myself for doing that. SInce the strong point of the LS is the lowend power and torqe..although it still doesn't really have that much..I sacrificed that with the light flywheel. 2nd gear starts use to be no problem with the stock clutch and flywheel. Now I don't even bother and start in 1st. Some of that might have to do with the clutch though. It engages hard and the engagement point is narrow. I can still start in 2nd its just I have to give it more RPM.
I kinda rambled..hope it helped a little bit though.
