Well my clutch has been on its last limb for the past few weeks. I have had to baby it because sometimes it even slips while in gear. I autoXed on Saturday and laucnhed the car a good 8 times, kinda puttin some stress on the clutch, but everything seemed fine. I drove home (bout a 20 minute drive) and all the sudden I stalled my car even though i had thought i had it out of gear (i don't really know what happened there). then a block later i stalled it again, and after i restarted my car everything was fine, it just wouldnt shift into second. Later at night I started my car, drove arround the block, everything was fine. Today I drove arround for 15 mins, ate at taco bell, came back to my car, and on the way home it wouldnt let me shift into second.

That's pretty much the story now. Everything is fine but it won't go into second gear. Not even if i force it. I thought I only had a problem with my clutch, but this sounds like something else on top of it. any ideas?

How many miles do you have on that clutch? First thing to do is check the basics. Sometimes when you cant put into gear your brake fluid is low, so check that first. If its slipping while its in gear it sounds like your clutch is worn out.

 

i know the clutch is worn out, i'll go check my fluid

 

my fluid is fine. the car just wont go into second. everything else seems fine. i can drive it arround just cant ever use second gear. cani PLEASE get some input from you guys!

 

 

sounds like you do have a clutch problem, right now one of my firends has a problem with his clutch on his GSR , the pressure plate is all fucked up so when he pushes in the clucth its not actually disengaging, at first we thought it was the fluid or the master cylinder or slave cylinder. with his car the only way to get it in gear is to turn the car off then put it in first and start it then rev match teh rest of the gears. heres how to tell if you tranny has a problem. WIth the car off put it in second make sure you can feel that its in. start the car and then see if the car starts to move, and try dring in just second gear. if it kicks it out or you ccan't even get it in when the cars off , you may have a tranny problem

 

ok i don't think it's a clutch problem.

right now, my car is driving fine aside from the fact i cant get in second. i've put 500 miles on it in the past couple days, and everything seems fine, i the clutch is fine, i can shift fine, i just can NOT get it into second. i dont think its a synchro problem because if it was, i'd still be able to force it in gear. i cant even put it in gear whent he car is off. it feels like something is physically blocking it. i looked at the linkage on the transmission and it seems fine. does anyone know what this could be?
